Dan Smith and Margy Smith are generous supporters of working families using extended stays as a last resort for housing. Dan is a leader in the community advocating for family stability. As a supporter of the Motel to Home initiative, Dan encourages a collaborative effort of individuals, faith based entities and large organizations to work together to support families in getting back on track. He has been instrumental in advising us on aftercare with a focus on making sure families are supported while working on their own goals of financial stability.

Dan is an active donor, assisting agencies and asking the right questions of outcomes and data that helps them improve. He is an advisor to several agencies in the community and provides support to innovative approaches. These approaches help ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) families increase their financial well-being which is critical to our projects.

"We have an obligation to care. These families attend our schools, play sports with our kids, work in our community. We are one of the richest countries in the world. If everyone did something... it would contribute to the solution."
